Johann Gottlieb Fichte, born May 19, 1762 in Rammenau, died January 29 in Berlin, was a German educator and philosopher. Alongside Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schilling and Georg Friedrich Hegel, he is considered the most important representative of German idealism. The Stiftswiese, where J.G. Fichte's monument is located, belongs to the Warnery Foundation. It was acquired by Countess Fanny Luise Johanna von Warnery, wife of Count Johann Centurius von Hoffmannsegg, and donated to the school community.
