Ameisenstraße Nature Trail

Nice to hike from the mountain hiking trail on the Cotta Stein down to Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz.

The ant path was created in 2021 by the Sachsenforst as a nature trail in the Zinsbachtal. Carved ant figures and knowledge stations can be found along the approximately 700 meter long path.The ant path is not far from the crossroads and the "Jungfernsprung" refuge between Grünheide and Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz. The natural history trail is a Sachsenforst project on forest education. Depending on the season and season, 20 or more anthills can be found at the site.Highlights along the way are six head-high carved ant figures. They bring little explorers closer to the life of ants in the ant colony, as construction workers, caretakers or wet nurses. Another figure - that of the ant queen - is planned. At various stations, even more knowledge about the small, useful crawlers is conveyed in a playful way.
