The hydroelectric power station is reached from the mulberry island on the Ilvesheimer island.
January 10, 2018
If you walk along the canal, at the eastern end of the island you will reach the hydroelectric power station above the lock, which was built as part of the Neckar Canal construction. To this day, Neckar AG uses a ten meter gradient between the canal and the Neckar to generate electricity. Huge turbines generate 34.4 gigawatts of electrical energy annually with a regular flow rate of 105 cubic meters per second.

The power plant was built in the course of the Neckar canalization in the eastern part of the Mulberry Island at a passage between the Neckar and the Neckar Canal running north of the island. The Feudenheim power plant is not located on a weir, but upstream at the outskirts of Ladenburg, where the Neckar and Neckar Canal separate.
