The Museum of Arts and Crafts Hamburg is a Kunstgewerbemuseum in Hamburg. It was founded in 1876 as the fourth Kunstgewerbemuseum in German-speaking countries (after Leipzig, Vienna and Berlin). The museum building on Steintorplatz in the district of St. Georg am Hauptbahnhof housed until 1970, a trade school. The museum is supported by a foundation under public law and has the purpose of "establishing culture, especially art and applied art, with its collections from European, ancient and Asian cultures." [1]
