Quedlinburg is a World Heritage Site. In the center of the historic old town is the market square. It is surrounded by a multitude of historic half-timbered houses that characterize the old town. On the north side of Quedlinburg's market square is the Quedlinburg town hall with the administrative headquarters of the city of Quedlinburg. The renaissance style building on the ground floor contains a model of Quedlinburg's historic Old Town.
In Quedlinburg there is much to discover. A great city!

The town hall was first mentioned in documents in 1310. It was rebuilt in Renaissance style at the beginning of the 17th century. From this phase comes the representative entrance portal with the coat of arms above. Between 1899 and 1901 the cultivation of two side wings took place. Worth seeing are in the style of the Wilhelminian style with murals to the city history equipped city council meeting room (ballroom) and the large funded by the Wüstenrot Foundation city model on the ground floor. The stone Roland destroyed in 1477 was rebuilt in 1869 and stands on the market facade next to the outside staircase. The city hall is still today seat of the Quedlinburger city administration.

Over 2000 half-timbered houses from 8 centuries in the Welterbestadt are good arguments for a visit.

Very nice place, almost all houses are nicely prepared again.
If you are allowed to sit in front of the Bären restaurant in the evening, you can capture the atmosphere well.

Julius Wolff was the son of the cloth manufacturer Wolff. He was born in today's Haus Markt 8/9 in Quedlinburg and visited the Gymnasium in his native city and then the University of Berlin, where he studied philosophy and economics. After study trips, he returned to Quedlinburg, where he took over the father's cloth factory, which he had to sell in 1869, however. Wolff founded the Quedlinburg Harz newspaper, took part in the German-French War 1870/71 as a Landwehr officer and settled on his return in 1872 as a freelance writer in Berlin. He was a member of the Quedlinburg Masonic Lodge Zur goldenen Waage.

Quedlinburg's architectural heritage has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1994 and makes the city one of the largest area monuments in Germany. In the historic old town with its cobblestone streets, winding alleys and small squares there are over 2000 half-timbered houses from the eighth century.
The Renaissance town hall, the Schlossberg, the collegiate church and the cathedral treasure are testimonies to the Quedlinburg women's monastery. And not to forget the Munzenberg with its about 50 small crooked houses.
I am totally flashed and can only say, "Absolutely worth seeing"

The Hainberg is a ridge and is located northwest of the Harz mountain range, a few kilometers southwest of Salzgitter and separates the Ambergau to the east. It stretches from Holle in the north-northwest and Baddeckenstedt in the north and east to Lutter am Barenberge in the south. West of the Hainberg is Bockenem in the center of the Amberg.
Among the attractions of the Hainberg include the Bodensteiner cliffs, which lie at about 200 to 283 m altitude and consist of Hilssandstein the Lower Cretaceous.
North of the cliffs lies the Hubertus Chapel (Hubertusgrotte), a rock chapel carved in 1733 in sandstone. In its northern neighborhood stands the 1838 built hunting lodge, which was used as a forest restaurant.
From Jägerturm on the Northern Jägerturmskopf (244 m) offers the view to the south to southeast Harz.
