The Slotplaats is an ancient estate in the wooded area of Bakkeveen and was built in 1668. Then the Aylva family built a castle there, called the Blauwhuis. The Blauwhuis was demolished in 1838. Only the castle farm remained and to this day it is the icon of the Slotplaats estate. Nowadays you can go here for delicious 'Dutch Cuisine'.
