Havneby is the capital of the island of Romo and has about 300 inhabitants. Its meaning lies in the until today active fish or crab catch. In addition, there is the always well booked Syltfähre from here as a price alternative the German neighboring island several times a day with Romo and thus also ensures a constant coming and going.
The place itself has changed a lot in the last few years, from the less sensational harbor to the real capital of an island.
A new shopping center with marketplace and overlying attractive apartments, various restaurants, tourist information and the new marina, here is actually life moved into the place.
In the harbor itself are the fish and shrimp kuttert, plus facilities and ships of the new offshore activities. And from the waterfront you have a great view over the Wadden Sea and the arriving ferry from Sylt, the Syltexpress.
