Best Hikes to Constitution Column Gaibach

Tips

  • The constitution column in Gaibach is one of the landmarks of the Lower Franconian village. It is located on the hill of the Sonnenberg. The almost 30-meter-high column is modeled after the Trajan's Column in Rome; The plans are by Leo von Klenze, the court architect Ludwig I. From the base of the pillar you have a nice view towards the Schwanberg.

  • During my visit in September 2019, the column was scaffolded. How long the work will last, I could not find out.
