The Church of Our Lady - Vor Frue Kirke in Assens is the second largest church on Funen.

The Holevad Chapel on the north side of the church and the square lower part of the tower are remnants of a Romanesque church.

Apart from the name - after the Virgin Mary - a monstrance cabinet that now stands to the right of the altar and a holy water vessel walled into the wall in the mortuary chapel, which was the church's vestibule around 1500, are reminders of the Catholic period.

In 1488 the church was finished in its current Gothic appearance, including the octagonal 48 m high tower, which is unique in Denmark apart from the five towers of the church in Kalundborg.
