    Thor's anvil
    "The Stone Sky Disc"

Place: 02742 Neusalza-Spremberg, field name: unknown

The object was given the nickname "The Stone Sky Disc" because the rock in the large north-south viewing window allows the same way of observation as is documented on the Nebra Sky Disc.
Sunrise and sunset of the winter and summer solstices and sunrise of the beginning of spring and autumn.
In addition, the sun of the winter solstice can be seen until about noon and the sun of the summer solstice in the evening in a particularly prominent viewing window in the flight of a cave.
The object "Thor's Anvil" consists of a rock pedestal, a large stone wedge and a mushroom-like capstone.
The viewing windows to the sun are located under the capstone and the light of the sun cuts through a narrow cave about the height of a man. The capstone and the stone wedge appear artificially placed, giving the rock a dolmen-like impression.
The rock is located on a hill on the outskirts of Neusalza-Spremberg, about 500 meters west of the Schmiedesteine. It can be easily reached in various ways. The locals call the location "Güttlers Büschel".

Prehistoric solar sanctuary. The winter and summer solstices were determined here.
