The "Grotte Chauvet 2" is the concrete and resin idea to protect the stalactite cave discovered in 1994 by Chauvet, Deschamps and Hillaire in the immediate vicinity of the Pont D'Arc (from many visitors, humidity, air, etc.) and at the same time to open it up (to the public): They simply built it again.

Absolutely very large (3000m2!), absolutely detailed (well, the 8000m2 of the original cave was "condensed" into 3000m2 here), with gigantic effort, effectively staged (light! also sound). And it's worth it: the pictures in the cave are 36,000 years old, and some of them are so modern that you might think they were by today's artists. Effective time management ensures that visitors get through (order in advance! be there at least 30 minutes early!!).

An indoor and an outdoor exhibition complement the grotto.
