The Brauweiler windmill, also known as the 'Fettenmühle', is located on the outskirts of the village of Brauweiler. Its ancestor was one

wooden post mill of the abbots of Brauweiler. She no longer has wings, but the inventory is complete; she

is privately owned.

The mill was technically documented in 2007 by Paul Demel on behalf of the Mühlenverband Rhein-Erft-Rur e.V. It became one

The mill is of the 'Wallhollander' type with a conical tower of round cross-section. The wings and the brewing mechanism are missing.

The masonry thickness at the foot of the mill is 1.50 m and at the top 0.80 m.

The existing mill wall (earth wall) is dry. No moisture damage was found on the exterior walls.

The rampart was used for the necessary sails (sailcloth hoisting) of the mill.

On the north-west side of the mill is an archway made of firebrick with a double-leaf gate. Here were the
