Hiking
The windmill was built in 1841 and used wind power to drain the Spengen polder until 1962. Since 1963, the windmill has been owned by the Stichting De Utrechtse Molens. The sails are almost 24 metres long and are fitted with old Dutch fencing with sails. The mill beats the water by means of a scoop wheel. It grinds regularly thanks to a volunteer miller.
