Zwycięstwa Square in the center of Szczecin is opened by the Port Gate, built in the baroque style in the first half of the 18th century according to the design of Gerhard Cornelius van Wallrawe.
This is one of the two gates that are part of the former Prussian fortification that has survived to this day. In its attic there are plaques with a gilded inscription in Latin informing about the Brandenburgs' rights to Pomerania.

Right behind the Port Gate, there is the neo-Gothic church of St. Wojciech, today the garrison church. It is characterized by a soaring, asymmetrically positioned tower, 65.5 meters high. Although its architecture is dominated by the Gothic Revival, one can also find neo-Romanesque influences, especially in decorations. On the square between the church and the Port Gate, there is a monument to Kornel Ujejski, a Polish poet known as the last great creator of the Romantic era.
