Das Schiff und der Turm wurden 1841 nach einem Entwurf von Jean Dumoulin gebaut. In diesem Jahr wurde Ubachsberg eine eigenständige Gemeinde. Vor dieser Zeit war Ubachsberg Teil der Pfarrei St. Laurentius in Voerendaal.

Im Jahr 1924 wurde die Kirche nach dem Entwurf des Architekten Beursgens in Sittard erweitert. Außerdem wurden ein Querschiff und ein Chor im neoromanischen Stil gebaut.

The St. Bernard Church is a church building in Ubachsberg in the Dutch South Limburg municipality of Voerendaal. The church is located on the main street through the village: Kerkstraat, east to Huls and northwest to Colmont / Voerendaal. Bernardusplein is located south of the church. The cemetery is located to the east and south of the church.
The church is a national monument and is dedicated to St. Bernardus.
