Old cruciform church in a locked glass building, everything can be admired and protected.

In the year 1996 one discovered a Bodendenkmal on the Wittekindsberg. The excavations soon brought to light foundations that indicated a cross-shaped building, a so-called central building.
In Europe, there are only four other directly comparable buildings: in Prague, in Krakow, in Schuttern and in Trier. Only the church in Trier can still be seen today. This makes the Kreuzkirche on the Wittekindsberg a rarity.
Inside the building, five graves were found during the excavations; four of them were children and one an adult woman.
To protect the excavations, a glass structure was built around the church. A metal framework around the structure allows visitors to see the Cross Church from all perspectives.

An archaeological rarity and a bit puzzling.
