After only about a year of construction, the church was inaugurated on September 14, 1908. The single-nave clinker building with a closed chancel and west tower is built in the neo-Gothic style. The equipment you can see today dates from the construction period. The extraordinary stained glass windows are remarkable. The altar, pulpit and baptismal font, which are made of burnt terracotta, are also unusual.

During the GDR era, the parish became smaller and smaller and the church fell into disrepair until it was no longer used at the beginning of the 1990s.
