The exposed and almost completely intertwined network of roots of this tree has something almost mystical about it. It exudes a fascinating magic that the viewer cannot escape. I imagine how at night, when the moonlight falls on the forest floor on its way between the keep and the treetops, the elves dance around the individual strands of roots, flapping their wings. All humbug and fantasy? Perhaps. But I like the idea.
