August 2025, touring bike: The tunnel is unpaved and full of potholes. No horses or cows. I wouldn't have ridden through the tunnel, but two workers loaded me onto their car and drove me through.

It's safe to ride through the tunnel if you have proper light. Yes, there are some potholes and dripping water from the ceiling (only short section of the tunnel) but nothing to be afraid of. 40+mm tires are preferable.
