In 1992, the Maritime Museum was opened as an external branch of the Cultural History Museum in buildings on the former Sternschanze on the now military-free island of Dänholm. Exhibitions on the maritime and naval history of Stralsund and the region from the Middle Ages to modern times are shown.
The museum is closed from November 1st to April 30th.
