The Gänsturm in Weikersheim was built around 1320 and was one of the access gates in the city wall. It was so badly damaged in the Second World War that it was actually supposed to be torn down. Citizens prevented this. In 2002, the tower was rebuilt true to the original according to plans from 1721.Today it houses the city museum and serves as an observation tower.

The Gänsturm, once a Gothic city gate tower, was half destroyed by grenades in the last days of World War II and was only rebuilt in 2003 through civic engagement and now houses the city museum.
