Tens of thousands of visitors spend time in this historic building every year, which was originally built in 1883 as an entertainment venue for the wealthy Crimmitschau factory owners and converted into a theater in 1950.

With its 500 seats, the building and its furnishings are listed as historical monuments and offer visitors a wide range of high-quality entertainment. In addition to events with well-known artists from radio and television, the program includes classical concerts, jazz, operetta and musical performances, theater and cabaret.

However, the building is used for a wide variety of purposes. Various clubs and the district music school have their home there. The Pleißenland Art Association organizes constantly changing exhibitions in the foyer and the Crimmitschau Tourist and City Information Office has recently started welcoming visitors in newly designed rooms.
