Hiking

To the north of the Hanau-Wolfgang Forestry Office there are heavily wetted areas, which are not a moor in the narrower sense, but are a quarry landscape. Alder trees grow here, one of the few tree species that can exist in very wet, groundwater-affected or temporarily flooded locations. There are also numerous other marsh plants that have a habitat here.
