The Mansfeld Museum in Humboldt Castle, with its large parking lot, is a suitable starting point for hikes and mountain bike tours. From here you can head for various routes along this hiking route "Wanderable, wildly romantic Wippertal". In one direction the Mansfeld Castle, in the other along the Wipper the Hettstedter Kunstzuckerhut and the Wiederstedt Novalis Castle. From both directions there is the possibility to get back to the starting point by public transport. There is also a stamp at the museum with the imprint of the steam engine.

If you have a little time, you can learn something about the history of the region, mining, the von Humboldt family and the Hettstedt fire engine in the Mansfeld Museum. As a special highlight, the first German steam engine for lifting water in mining can be demonstrated.
The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
