British fortified complex from the Great War excavated in rock, to defend the eastern slope of Monte Zovetto towards Val Magnaboschi and the nearby Monte Lemerle: largely armored trenches, shelters, machine gun nests in armored trenches and in wells, shelter, cistern for water collection. In the spring of 1918, to prevent the consequences of the defeat at Caporetto and the advance of the Austro-Hungarian army towards the Venetian Plain, the English allies arrived in Italy to defend the southern edge of the plateau, the last bastion against the invasion: between Monte Zovetto and Monte Lemerle took place the bloody Battle of the Solstice in the summer of 1918, in which the Imperial Army was finally repelled.

As evidence of the sacrifice of the allies across the Channel, there are 5 English cemeteries on the Asiago Plateau.
