Due to its strategic location, Mildenburg has had an eventful history. The owner changed hands violently again and again and was destroyed twice in fighting. After the last devastation, it was partially rebuilt in the 16th century. It received its current appearance during major renovations in the 19th century. You can visit the castle and visit a museum where you can find out about the history of the building. There is also an exhibition about contemporary artists and icons. The phenomenal view from the castle keep is particularly impressive.
