Due to its strategic location, Mildenburg has a turbulent history behind it. Again and again the owner changed hands and twice she was destroyed in combat. After the last devastation, it was partially rebuilt in the 16th century. The current appearance has received it in major alterations to the 19th century. You can visit the castle and visit a museum where you can learn about the history of the building. There is also an exhibition on contemporary artists and icons. The museum is open from April to November, Tuesday through Sunday. Particularly impressive is the phenomenal view from the keep.

Miltenberg from above is always beautiful, the Main, which meanders in between and in the background is Bürgstadt with beautiful vineyards. Awesome👍💚

The most beautiful view is on / from the castle. Definitely worth climbing up there.

On the Nibelungensteig it is easy to miss the Miltenburg because it is off the beaten track and the signpost is barely visible. The view of the Main and Miltenberg is great and the bar in the castle is recommended.
