The church with community center, which was inaugurated in 2021, bears the same name as the church of old Manheim, which was intended for demolition in the course of the resettlement of Manheim for the Hambach opencast mine. The modern new building made of exposed concrete includes some elements from the old church such as the weathercock, bells, altar and three choir windows.
The ensemble was created according to plans by office03 // waldmann & jungblut architekten from Cologne and actually forms something like the middle of the otherwise very sterile and architecturally spooky district.
