The hamlet of Kaulsroth was first mentioned in a document in 1275. The farm owned extensive land. The farm has been divided several times since the 18th century. Up to 20 people lived in the hamlet. The place ecclesiastically belonged to the parish Mupperg. Politically, however, it was subordinate to the Neuhaus office and was affiliated with the village of Sichelreuth.
Since Kaulsroth was on the inner-German border, the pressure on the residents increased from 1952. In 1961 the situation worsened and the last hours struck for the residents in the hamlet. They left their belongings and in 1962 the farm was razed to the ground. Traces in the area still indicate the settlement.
