Four bunkers are reminiscent of the First World War, when the Kemmelberg was a British observation post. From its summit they had the best view of the front line, which ran from Messines via Wijtschate to Ypres.

The British soldiers built the shelters in the spring of 1917. They served as underground brigade headquarters with corresponding sleeping quarters. Behind it was a command post that is no longer accessible. Admission is free, tickets are available in the visitor center.

The Lettenberg Bunkers are four concrete bunkers from the First World War, located in a spur of the Kemmelberg. These bunkers were built in the spring of 1917 by British soldiers of the 175th Tunnelling Company, Royal Engineers. They served as access to an underground headquarters, which is no longer accessible. In April 1918, the bunkers fell into German hands, with one bunker being converted into a medical post.
