The Seehaus Leonberg was commissioned by Sibylla von Anhalt and built by Heinrich Schickhardt. The Seehaus is an important cultural monument and a listed building. It is located outside the town of Leonberg in the Glems valley and is close to the Glemseck hotel and restaurant, the former Glemseck castle and the Solitude race track. It takes its name from the Eltinger Lake, which covered the lake meadows there.
It has been used since 2003 as a youth correctional facility in the Böblingen district.

Since 1953, Section 91 (3) JGG (youth penal system in free forms) offered a way for an innovative youth penal system between closed and open youth penal systems. The Ministry of Justice of Baden-Württemberg under the then Minister of Justice Prof. Dr. Ulrich Goll left. In 2003, both the Chance project in Creglingen and the Seehaus Leonberg began work. Since then, they have given juvenile offenders the chance to prepare for a life without crime outside the prison walls and the associated negative influence from other prisoners.
