This wonderful, 28 km long ascent begins gently rising through the river valley behind Gedrè. As soon as you drive through the town of Gavarnie, the topography changes. You will see the sign for the start of the ascent to Col de Tentes, which will take you to over 2200 m and offer a view of Spain and snow in midsummer!
