    History of Soislieden:
"Soislieden" settlement on the Beghang (Liede or Leite des Soisberg = Berg am Soisbach)
Soislieden is the smallest town in the Hohenroda community and is located at an altitude of 442 m above sea level on the edge of the forest
Soisberg (630 m above sea level). This small settlement was first mentioned in 1585 in a contract between the bishopric of the
Fulda and the Lords of Buchenau. In this treaty the governors and councilors intended to get the people out
Subordinate Soislieden to the jurisdiction of the Haselstein office, against which the von Buchenau appealed
to have. In 1675 it was noted in the Fulda tribute files that at times parts of Soislieden belonged to Buchenau.
From 1696-1830 the von Seyso from Mansbach had fiefs in Soislieden. Until 1803 the place belonged to Buchenau.
Ecclesiastically he was assigned to the parish and school association Buchenau until 1843 and then came to the parish and school association Mansbach.
In 1769 the former "Gnadenheim" (from 1920) was built in half-timbered style. In 1905, the municipality of Soislieden supported that a doctor should come to Mansbach. In 1922, the decision was made to electrify Soislieden. The first telephone was given to the Gnadenheim in 1932 (call 2 Mansbach) At the northern boundary of the district you can still find boundary stones from 1709 with the coat of arms of the prince abbey of Fulda and the Landgraviate of Hessen-Kassel.
The last mayors until 1960 were Martin Wuchert, then Adam Mares. The congregation was up to
December 31, 1969 completely independent and then joined the municipality of Mansbach in the Hünfeld district. With the
Establishment of the large community Hohenroda on February 1st, 1972, the community Mansbach with its districts Soislieden and Oberbreitzbach was integrated and assigned to the district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg.
