The Protestant Church of Peace is one of the largest half-timbered churches in Europe. It was built in 1657 as one of the three peace churches that were granted to Silesia with the Peace of Westphalia. It offers space for 7,500 people, of which 3,000 are seated. And that on an area of just 1,100 square meters. Incredible.

The decor is magnificent and exuberant. The pulpit and altar were created in the mid-18th century and the great organ in the 1660s. A Bach festival has been held here every year since 2000.

The Evangelical Church of Peace of the Holy Trinity (Kościół Pokoju pw. Świętej Trójcy) in Świdnica (German: Schweidnitz) is one of the most important sights in Silesia. Since 2001, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Church of Peace in Jawor (German: Jauer) under the title Peace Churches in Jawor and Świdnica and is considered the largest half-timbered church in Europe.
