There is a dispute in Lindau about the future of the Bismarck monument and a demolition is being discussed.I find the ostentatious and unoriginal Bismarck towers (the ones with the three-quarter columns at the corners) rather unnecessary, especially when they don't even serve as observation towers.

The Lindau Bismarck Monument is the southernmost in Germany and was erected in 1931. The eight-meter-high eagle and the medallion with the portrait of Bismarck (front) were created by Lothar Dietz.
