This highlight probably primarily refers to the house of Niklaus and Dorothee - and not the hermitage and chapel in Ranft.
Niklaus built the house himself, as assumed, around 1450. He lived there with his family until he became a hermit. After he left, Dorothee and his children continued to live in this house.
The house was changed several times over the centuries, but was restored to its original state in 1944/45 in preparation for his canonization in 1947. Opening hours:
May to Sept. 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. (open all day Saturday and Sunday)
April and October: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
