Lightning struck the oak twice in 1988, then there was the storm in 1999 and the drought in 2003, which hit the oak very hard and made measures necessary. It was cut back massively for the rescue. It was once 25m high, today it is 12m. Still standing in awe in front of such a tree and knowing which ages it has already lived through.
