There is no longer any masonry of the ruin; it was destroyed in the Basel earthquake in 1356.
However, the two castle walls and the palas hill are very well preserved. While four floors were left of the palace in the 16th century, only a few traces were found in the 18th century. In 1939 soldiers found two wall sections of the ruin while working on the Adler Süd artillery observation bunker. Large parts of the ruins were then uncovered until 1940, and numerous finds were found, for example two well-preserved pot helmets. In 1943 the ruins were filled in with earth again to keep them from falling into disrepair.

There is not much left to see of the ruins, but the narrow, somewhat steep hiking trail up and down is very interesting. You should be an experienced hiker and wear good shoes.
