Partially new road surface, it runs absolutely great.Interesting facts about the dam:
The Philipsdam is part of the Delta Works. It separates the Krammer and Volkerak waterways from the Oosterschelde and runs between the Grevelingendam and the Sint-Philipsland.In 1976, construction began on a work island on the Plaat van Vliet. After that, the Krammer locks were built for inland shipping. These were completed in 1983 and opened to traffic on February 2, 1987, after the dyke construction work was completed. In 1994, another lock was built for recreational shipping. The locks work with a water exchange system that prevents salt water from the Oosterschelde from flowing into the Volkerak. The heavier salt water is sucked out from below or the fresh water from above, depending on the direction the ships are traveling. The locks are 280 meters long and 24 meters wide and are therefore also suitable for large push barges.Source and more: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philipsdam
