A historic castle, now used as an educational center. Visits are only possible with a guided tour. It was once the ancestral seat of the Hendl family. Alexander and Adam de "Colruna," as Goldrain was known around 1170, are documented as the first lords of the settlement. Primarily in the 15th and early 16th centuries, the Hendl family transformed their residential castle, with its four-towered enclosure wall, into an impressive Renaissance monument.

Goldrain Castle was built in 1323 and now serves as an educational center. It's beautifully situated on the Sonnenberg mountain above Goldrain. There's a lovely café in the courtyard, as well as another café on the first floor (indoors). Admission is free (as it's an educational center), so you can explore the grounds and gain insight into the area.
