Beer has been brewed in the De Keersmaeker brewery since 1721, although the brewery was then called "De Hert" and - how could it be otherwise - Hert ale flowed from the tap. In the middle of the 18th century, the brewery became the property of the Bastaerts family, whose daughter married brother De Keersmaeker from Hamme. Their descendants remained active as brewers and from here they sent the gueuze and lambic "Mort Subite" into the world. Since 1989, the brewery has been bound to the Alken-Maesgroep by a cooperation agreement.
You can enjoy this delicious beer in the 18th-century inn "in't Wit Paard".
