High bunker on the corner of Waldstrasse and Sonnwendjochstrasse. This octagonal building with a tent-like tiled roof and monumental-looking staircase looks more impressive in the direction of the Rapunzel Tower. In fact, it dates from 1941 and was then known as "Luftschutzbau Nr. 7 in the Munich district of Berg am Laim". An anti-aircraft gun was placed on the upper floor - the tiled roof was not put on until later. The bunker was designed for 300 people, but was used by up to 1000 people on nights of bombing. The building has been a listed building since 1994. There has been a dispute about its use for years - unfortunately, this exciting building is not accessible these days.
