The Isar cycle path begins in Scharnitz shortly after the source of the Isar. 290km of well-developed cycle path await the riders and take them to Deggendorf in Lower Bavaria, or alternatively to Niederalteich, where the willing rider can directly connect to the Danube cycle path.
The Isar cycle path naturally has only slight inclines, is very well signposted and there are numerous sights along the way as well as places to stop and stay overnight.
Personally, I would do the tour the other way around and swim completely against the current. Why? Should the highlight of the tour really be the Platte section near Deggendorf? Not for me. Mittenwald, Scharnitz, origin of the Isar - mountain backdrop... great!

No matter how you cycle around the Isar, it's beautiful anyway. Absolutely worth seeing the Isar meadows, the origins and the section from the origins to Munich.

I once drove a mountain variant from Scharnitz to Munich. The Flixbus took me to the start. Here's a little more (with lots of pictures): spark.adobe.com/page/vYl8R2n3vBFqh
Addendum: I drove the rest now, the scenery wasn't that exciting. Here with some pictures: komoot.de/tour/461059177
