The Wyker sport boat harbor is one of the most beautiful harbors on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein.

The island of Föhr lies in the heart of the Wadden Sea National Park. Föhr is a popular holiday resort and lives almost exclusively from tourism. The history of Wyk harbor began several hundred years ago. The first existing and verifiable records about Wyk harbor show the awarding of the so-called "harbor rights" on October 31, 1704. The harbor offers a very diverse infrastructure in a relatively small area. It is primarily characterized by the year-round ferry service between the mainland and the island of Amrum. The fishing harbor is still home to seven mussel fishing vessels and four shrimp boats. As in other harbors, fishing now plays only a minor role. While a few years ago Wyk harbor was visited by up to 30 shrimp boats every day during the fishing season, today it only serves as a shelter for a few boats. The Wyk harbor on Föhr is also rarely used by mussel fishing vessels. Fishing plays practically no role in the North Frisian Wadden Sea region anymore.Regular fishing-related events are held in the Wyk harbor area as tourist attractions. For example, the Wyk fish market has been held on the east quay, the so-called "fish market pier", every Sunday from spring to autumn for well over 20 years. Municipal Port Authority Wyk auf Föhr
The port authority is a municipal authority of the town of Wyk auf Föhr. According to the operating statutes of November 17, 2000, the purpose of the municipal authority is to operate and maintain the port facilities as well as to rent and lease the municipal properties and other facilities belonging to the port. The municipal authority also constructs and operates a wind turbine, a car and boat washing area, operates green buildings (a construction yard and a garden center), manages the beach and maintains the townscape. Ulrich Koch was appointed as the plant manager of the port authority, and his deputy is Gerd Jakobsen.
