Tips
A few days before our hike led us to this extraordinary tree on August 17th, 2021, a huge piece of the old beech must have broken out. The scene of the accident had already been cleared and the broken parts had been sawn up and moved to the side. But the leaves were still fresh. There is now a really bad wound on the huge beech tree, exactly at the height of the grown side tree. It's hard to imagine that the tree can recover from this injury. We very much hope that the tree will survive, because it would be a shame if this imposing natural monument were lost!
