The roughly three-kilometre hiking trail along the cliffs commemorates the stay of the well-known Prague poet Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 to 1926). In 1912 he was a guest of his patron, Princess Marie von Thurn und Taxis-Hohenlohe, and it was here that he began to work on his "Duino Elegies", one of the best-known works of German poetry.
