The Peace Bridge was opened on June 25, 2011 in Derry / Londonderry over the River Foyle. It is called the Peace Bridge because it was supposed to help improve relationships in what was once a very divided community. The predominantly unionist 'Waterside' and the largely nationalist 'City Side' and the bridge connect the two sides across the river.
