Tips
When the lake is full, the water overflows over the dam. This is particularly nice because the dam wall has an approx. 1 m wide and deep porch that is easy to walk on.

Andorra has numerous mountain lakes at over 2000m, from which the water for power generation is obtained. These include Lac Illa, Lac del Val Riu, Lac Cabana Sorda and finally Lac de Juclar, the largest of these lakes. The dam was built between 1933 and 1936. A little below the dam you can still see the ruins of the hut where the workers stayed during construction.
