Free parking at the forest barracks in Foresta di Montes. The tractor with a wooden trailer permanently parked there is very cute.

Even in midsummer a wonderfully shady place in the middle of the lonely forester's house. A couple of wild boars line the slopes, a kitten sneaks around the feet. From here you can hike Monte San Giovanni or steer your way through the karst landscape to deserted places. Peace is assured.
