Ruine Neuscharfeneck

A very beautiful and romantic castle ruin. In the ruin there are information boards about the castle, which are very nicely designed and informative. The best thing, however, is the beautiful distant view in and around the Palatinate.

The ruin Neu Scharfeneck is a walk-in castle ruins with beautiful views of Dernbach, Ramberg and the ruins of Ramburg.

The ruin of the Höhenburg rises in the eastern part of the Palatinate Forest at a height of about 500 m on the western foothills of the Kalkofenberg.

Nearby is the Zimmer (Manns) Platz from the time the castle was built, where the Landauer Hütte is located. The ruin can be reached via forest paths and hiking trails from there, from the Drei Buchen pass or from Dernbach.

The castle Neuscharfeneck is the fourth largest castle ruin of the Palatinate. The ruin is located 280m above the village Dernbach and has an extensive facility. Set on fire in the Peasants' War, it was restored around 1530, but was finally destroyed in the 30-year war.

Very nice castle. Easy to reach from the forest house three Buchen.Gehzeit about 1 hour. On the way there great views. A visit is worth and then food in the forest house three Buchen.Die hostess comes from Austria, there's hearty. And no fear at large Crowd, the staff there is very fast.
