Nice, large archaeological site. You get a good impression of the houses that were once buried under lava (approx. 1600 BC).
Parking across the street is quite expensive € 5 (2021), where parking is usually free.

Akrotiri (Greek Ακρωτήρι) is an archaeological site in the south of the Greek island of Santorini. These are the remains of a 3500-year-old city of the Cycladic civilization with strong influences from the Minoan culture. They were discovered in 1967 by the Greek archaeologist Spyridon Marinatos. The city, whose original name is unknown, was like Pompeii suddenly buried as a result of a volcanic eruption, and so a number of artefacts including excellent frescoes have been preserved here.
